I think the change will come with a shift in policy making. With a new awareness of culture, religion, gender, environment. Step outside of politics and science and observe the people and the environments in which they are living. Regardless of how you feel about the IMF, World Bank, UN…these organizations are essentially in charge. They, unfortunately, lay the frame work. At this point in civilization, we will not be able to do away with them. So we can merely lobby for them to readjust their approaches. To realize that everything has a context. We cannot create a general policy and attempt to apply it to all societies, countries, villages, communities. Understand that female empowerment will only get you in trouble, and that gender empowerment will make the difference. You cannot empower women and leave the men out of it. They are, after all, in relationships together.
NGO’s are a double edged sword. The big ones who take small grass roots approaches and have the funds to hire educated employees seem to do alright, sometimes. The small grassroots ones which charge uneducated (in Development), unaware civilians to come in and work for them, are frequently harmful. And yet, we cannot do away with these organizations, because for the most part they do provide some sort of relief to the people with which they are working. But instant relief will not be a solution to long term problems. I don’t know what the solution to that one is, I am merely presenting the problem.

I don’t know about you, but I think the most important thing in life is to think positively. It sounds like a cliché, something that has been said a million times in the age we are in, but it is a fact. Positive thinking is just a part of it, and it goes so much deeper. Have you ever looked at the life of a person that doesn’t seem to be very happy? Ever analyzed it and watched the way that they look at themselves, and the vibes that they send out. It becomes so obvious that the worse it gets… the worse it gets. Have you ever experimented, and decided to affirm for a week that you HAVE something, that something actually exists? I’d like to find someone who has faithfully done this, and not soon seen that thing as a part of their life.
The vibes and energies that we send out to the world are, in science and in heart, what makes our lives. Everything is effected by thoughts, and lives can turn and twist based on our thought patterns. The human mind is a tool not to be messed with, and I truly believe that if everyone were to take the time to analyze this, they would also see the truth in it. It is very possible that we don’t have the ability to make a change in the big things that are happening in the world, but I believe that it is fully possible to see more positive in our own worlds. If everyone we’re to realize this, slowly, ever so slowly, the vibrations can only rise higher. Living a positively charged life, in turn, can only rub off on surroundings. This isn’t a solution to the issues of the world, but it might be a solution to the issues of one’s individual world. Just a thought!
