OBJECT: 25 different authors will collaborate independently to create ONE novel.
HOW: Each author will create his/her chapter by building off the previous chapter.
The first chapter will be one that has the ability to expand and evolve. Be original and look at life from different angles and perspectives ~ and not just with your writing!
Each chapter should be anywhere from 4 to 10 pages in length or 2,500 to 6,000 words, exceptions can and will be made according to the consequential nature of the work submitted.
Once we have chosen a chapter, we will post the authors’ name on our site along with the winning chapter for the next writers to build on, and readers … well to read.
A Novel Project is a fictional compilation composed by a different writer keeping the flow and mood of the project unique, spontaneous, and unpredictable at all times.
Aspiring ‘Novel Project’ Authors: All ages, professional or amateur.
Submit work to: anp@101magazine.ca
Prizes
Each winning author will receive $ 101.00 and their chapter posted on the website.
If ANP goes off without a hitch, when finished, 101 will publish the full novel.
Contest Rules & Regulations
Each chapter submission must be an original work by the author listed on the entry form. The work must be unpublished, or have the permission of the copyright owner to be used and meet the requirements within our rules and regulations (at the bottom of the main contests page).
There is no age requirement for entry, skill and the ability to be creative are the only prerequisites. Any one author has the potential to have a maximum of two chapters chosen and published within ‘A Novel Project’.
Entries will only be considered if you are a registered member at 101magazine.ca. Registration is free. All submissions must be emailed to anp@101magazine.ca with your work attached in MS Word format or RTF file. Any questions or concerns with the contest can be emailed at the same address: anp@101magazine.ca.
Contest Submission Guidelines
When submitting your Chapter include your NAME, and CONTACT INFORMATION (including phone number, e-mail address, and mailing address). You can’t win if we don’t know who you are.
On each page of your story, include only the PAGE NUMBER and your STORY TITLE, not your name or other contact information, as described in the guidelines below.
These special contest procedures allow the contest administrators to anonymously circulate your story without the cover page to the judges, to avoid any appearance of bias (in case your name is known to them). Only the contest administrator will have the entry forms with your name and contact information until judging is completed.
Deadlines
The deadline for CHAPTER FIVE will be November 20th, 2009
Submit all entries to anp@101magazine.ca
